I'm Xochitl Castrejón. The borderland's been home for many years, and I spent 15 of them as a Systems Integration and Test Engineer — the person whose whole job was making sure systems that couldn't afford to fail, didn't.
I could've taken that skill set anywhere. Instead I looked at the businesses I grew up around — and watched customers walk right past them to whoever showed up first online. Not because those businesses are worse. Because nobody built them a way to get found.
